The Place at Platt Lane is a community library and resource centre run in partnership between the local community, One Manchester and Manchester City Council.
We were established to take over the lease of the building from Manchester City Council and retain the only local community building in the area, after Fallowfield Library was threatened with closure in 2013.
The Place is not just a public lending library, but also a vibrant hub in the heart of the community, enhancing the skills, employability, education, culture and wellbeing of the residents of Fallowfield and beyond. Take a look at what’s on to find out more.
