Food & Toiletry Donations
Fallowfield, like many areas in Manchester, faces significant economic challenges. Our community is diverse in both culture and income, with many families struggling to afford basic necessities. To address this, we launched the Community Pantry two years ago—offering a sustainable, low-cost food shop to help families make ends meet.
Our pantry supports a wide range of people, including retirees, parents with young children, and individuals who are working but on low incomes—many of whom struggle to cover essential household costs each week.
How the Community Pantry Works
Our initiative is designed to reduce dependency on food banks by providing an affordable alternative. For just £3 per week, clients can access a grocery shop worth approximately £15, helping them manage their budgets more effectively.
Through our partnership with the national charity Fareshare, we source surplus food that is still fresh and nutritious. Each week, our pantry offers a variety of essential staples such as rice, pasta, and potatoes, alongside fresh, frozen, and chilled items—including fruit and vegetables that might otherwise be out of reach for many families.
How You Can Help
You can support the Community Pantry in two key ways:
🔹 Donate Funds – Cash donations help us purchase essential stock that may not always be available through Fareshare.
🔹 Donate Food & Toiletries – Contributions of non-perishable food and toiletries help us maintain a well-stocked pantry for those in need.
Supporting this project is also a fantastic way for small businesses to give back to the community and create social value in a meaningful, impactful way.
